國際政治經濟學乃是一門政治與經濟相結合，即從國家與市場、權力與財富互動的角度來分析觀察世界事務與國際關係的理論。
本課程之目的在於使修課同學瞭解有關國際政治經濟學之各種理論，並透過討論與演練，使理論與實踐相結合。修習本課程的學生預期可以建構以下能力：一、了解世界的演變格局；二、具備政策制定的國際視野能力；三、了解相關理論；四、在全球化趨勢中掌握生涯規劃。
